I’ve had this 1.5 quart Hamilton Beach ice cream maker for several years and love it. Follow the instructions in the booklet, which includes some recipes, though I use my own. Ensure the freezing tub has been in the freezer for 24 hours. Chill your ice cream mixture for an hour before churning it in this ice cream maker. Remove the freezer tub last and churn immediately. The instructions explain this – follow instructions and this makes good soft scoop ice cream. Do not harden the ice cream off in the freezing tub. Turn the soft scoop out into another container and pop in the freezer to harden, if you are not eating all of it soft scoop.
Then clean the freezing tub, dry it and pop it into the freezer so it will be ready the next time you want ice cream. This is what I do.
