If you’re looking for a reliable premium European-style dishwasher you’ll probably be comparing Bosch and Miele.
They’re two very different brands. One is based on value and quietness and the other has fantastic reliablility and an innovative wash-dry system.
They both have stainless-steel tubs, third racks for silverware, several basic and automatic cycles, and they both need JetDry to dry dishes.
At similar price points, Bosch tends to have more cycles and options as well as being quieter.
However, Miele has better wash and dry systems. All Mieles have a third wash arm instead of a basic sprayer in Bosch. All the racks on Miele are fully adjustable as well.
Based on our 31,761 service calls completed last year, Miele is our most reliable dishwasher brand. Only 5.63% were serviced within their first year of ownership. Bosch is a close second at 9.9%. But make sure you know who will service your appliances BEFORE you buy them.
