Hunter Symphony HomeKit Ceiling Fan & Light Makes Controlling the Temperature a Breeze – Review

Can you use your own light bulbs? I have loads of Hue bulbs that aren’t in use…

Hi! Do you now they have a Smartfan for 230 Volt?

It is just a real shame that they don’t list support for the current standard in home automation z-wave. Homekit might be a more consumer friendly form of home automation, but it is not what people with a true passion for home automation will use.

Hey Andrew, I have 2 of the Hunter HomeKit fans myself. One nice thing about the Symphony model of fans is that you can install standard A19 light bulbs, but unfortunately the LED light bulbs provided by Hunter do not support dimming. All you need to do is replace the bulbs with LED dimmable bulbs and you can adjust the brightness if that ever becomes something you want to do. Oddly enough it only adjusts in 10% intervals so you can choose 10%, 20%, 30%, etc for brightness levels. Hope you find that helpful, thanks for continuing to review HomeKit products, as a member of the Apple Consultants Network I continually push my budget to try out new products for my own home, and your videos help expose me to products I wasn’t aware of such as the LIFX mini (ordered one to try out today).
